When portable appliance testing the first thing to do is check that the test equipment is in good working order. This can be done by checking the leads for cracks in the cables, test probes are at the correct length and the tester itself is damage free.

 

Test probes should have a finger guard on to stop you from touching the end of the probes.

 

By completing this online course, it does not in any way or form qualify you in electrical engineering or similar qualification. This course should be used as guidance.

Only the person or persons who have taken a course and passed the in-service inspection and testing of electrical Equipment (Portable Appliance Testing) exam and are competent in the work they are doing, can perform Portable Appliance Testing.

At the end of the course you will be given a test of 20 multiple choice questions. The required pass rate is 85%.

You will be able to download and print (if required) a digital certificate on completion of the course.

Course certificate lasts for 3 years
